History

Italy is a country that has exported its gastronomy to the world. History tells us that Italian food was influenced by other countries, such as Greece, Africa, and Asian countries. The Greeks, Africans and Asians who settled there brought their meals and ways of cooking.

The gastronomy of Italy is very varied. It reflects the cultural variety of its regions as well as the diversity of its history. Italian cuisine is included in the so-called Mediterranean gastronomy and, as a Mediterranean diet, has been declared Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity by Unesco, and is imitated and practiced throughout the world.
